Multiflora and Capital Fringe Present ‘Music in the Library’ Series in Washington, DC Public Libraries 2015

Twice a month Capital Fringe and Multiflora Productiuons curate free live music into the DC Public Library through a sponsorship from the DC Public Library Foundation.

Capital Fringe and Multiflora present Music in the Library – a series of acoustic concerts staged in MLK Library’s Great Hall in June and July. Local and regional bands have been invited to share their music, and a well-loved book, in one of DC’s greatest cultural assets. The series will also include one concert a month in one of the branch libraries as well.

This program is part of the Training Factory series of programs produced by Capital Fringe and sponsored by the DC Public Library Foundation.

The kick-off concert for the 2015 season will take place in the MLK, Jr. Library at noon on Friday, January 23 with Chain and the Gang at 901 G Street, NW.

Chain and the Gang are self-described as the first anti-liberty group in rock and roll and are led by Ian Svenonious. Chain and the Gang “Turned down”- as you’ve never seen them before. With the amplifiers at a lower volume perhaps, but with no diminishment of their pure energy and outrage. These specimens of total rejection are equipped with a warning sticker: “shocking at any volume!”
